Nutrition 302

Course Name: Advanced Nutrition (3)

Course Description: Integration of cellular, physiological, and biochemical relationships with human nutrient requirements.

Raquel's Course Reflection:

Nutrition 302, otherwise known as Advanced Nutrition, has been a tough yet rewarding class. I have enjoyed the topics for lecture, the amount of detail that was taught and the straightforwardness of the material. The overall course covered topics involving the integration of cellular, physiological, and biochemical relationships with human and nutrient requirements.

I appreciated that the material greatly over lapped with the material covered in 302 Lab. The overall lecture material summarized subject matter that was previously taught in general prerequisite nutrition classes, but of course went into further depth. As most of my previous nutrition classes, the material followed coverage on the various nutrient groups (eg: Carbohydrates, Fats, Protein, and Vitamins/Minerals).

I also appreciated any extra credit opportunity that was offered. These were very rare, but allowing any opportunity to gain one or two points always wins students over and is greatly appreciated by the class. Professor Hooshmand by far has been one of my favorite professors. She is professional, motivating, and inspirational. One of my favorite memories has been participating in her version of Nutrition Jeopardy to help us students prepare for an exam. She is a natural at interacting with her students even if our class was large. She knew me by name and made the material far more interesting.
